Studi Deskriptif Pengalaman Flow dalam Olahraga Tenis Meja Club NHII Bandung

Abstract


Abstract. Sports achievements that resulted in quite a lot of achievements in Indonesia is the sport of table tennis. 30 table tennis players have enough achievements stand out both national and international levels. When playing intenis the table, they feel the focus, concentration and feel ' masuk'dan involved full at the moment. The experience they feel is a condition called flow. Flow is seen as a psychological state that brings enjoyment and engagement in the individual total on the things that were done. Experience flow has nine characteristics include, challenge – balance, skill action – awareness merging, clear goals, unambigous feedback, concentration on task, sense of control, loss of self-consciousness, transformation of time, and autotelic experience. Each of these dimensions is part of the onset of flow. Flow is important for the players because it could facilitate the occurrence of peak performance. This research uses descriptive studies research methods with the subject research of 30 players of table tennis. Measuring instrument to be used is The Flow State Scale (FSS). From the results obtained that as many as nine player table tennis experienced nine dimensions. From the research that has been done the advice given was to bring up the pengalama flow then must reach dimensions proximal condition, so athletes should know the purpose and improve skills in playing table tennis, For improve the experience of flow then the athletes should bring up the dimensions on the last of subjective state while being in flow by helping athletes to perform activities automatically at the time displayed.

Abstrak. Olahraga prestasi yang membuahkan cukup banyak prestasi di Indonesia adalah cabang olahraga tenis meja. 30 orang pemain tenis meja memiliki prestasi yang cukup menonjol baik tingkat nasional maupun internasional. Ketika bermain intenis meja, mereka merasakan fokus, konsentrasi dan merasa ‘masuk’dan terlibat penuh pada saat tampil. Pengalaman yang mereka rasakan merupakan kondisi yang disebut flow. Flow dilihat sebagai suatu keadaan psikologis yang membawa individu pada kenikmatan dan keterlibatan total pada hal yang dikerjakan. Pengalaman flow memiliki sembilan karakteristik meliputi, challenge – skill balance, action – awareness merging, clear goals, unambigous feedback, concentration on task, sense of control, loss of self-consciousness, transformation of time, dan autotelic experience. Setiap dimensi tersebut merupakan bagian dari terjadinya flow. Flow penting bagi pemain karena bisa memfasilitasi terjadinya peak performance. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian studi deskriptif dengan subjek penelitian 30 orang pemain tenis meja. Alat ukur yang akan digunakan adalah The Flow State Scale (FSS). Dari hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa sebanyak sembilan pemain tenis meja mengalami sembilan dimensi yang tinggi. Dari penelitian yang telah dilakukan saran yang diberikan adalah Untuk memunculkan pengalama flow maka harus mencapai dimensi-dimensi proximal condition, sehingga atlet harus mengetahui tujuan dan meningkatkan skill dalam bermain tenis meja, Untuk meningkatkan pengalaman flow maka atlet harus memunculkan dimensi-dimensi yang ada pada characteristic of subjective state while being in flow dengan membantu atlet untuk melakukan kegiatan secara otomatis pada saat tampil.
