Studi Deskriptif Mengenai Hardiness pada Koasisten Angkatan 2013 di Fakultas Kedokteran Gigi Universitas "X"

Abstract


Abstract. The Dental Profession Education Programme is a further education from the bachelors of dentistry which is a requirement to get a dentist degree and is authorized to provide dental and oral health services. At this level of education, co-assistants are faced with the obligation to resolve requirements which consist of a series of clinical work, case reports and or journal reading, seminars, and various kind of tests. At the class of 2013 there are several new policies, in the form of limitation of study period, increase the costs and changes in the case reporting system. For some co-assistants, this dental profession education programme is as a stressor, especially in completing many requirements. But there are some co-assistants who are able to fulfill all the requirements. There are personality characteristics that function as resources in pace with events in life that cause tension or stress, is called “Hardiness†from Kobasa (1982). The purpose of this study was to obtain empirical data about the description of hardiness. This research method is descriptive. Subjects in this research were 32 co-assistants from 2013 class in faculty of dentistry of “x†university. The measuring instrument used in this research was prepared by the researcher himself based on the Kobasa theory (1982). The result of validity test were 38 valid items from 42 items which arranged. Test result of reliability was 0.939. The result of research showed that there were 25 subjects (78.1%) who had high hardiness and 7 subjects (21.9%) had low hardiness.

Abstrak. Program Profesi Dokter Gigi merupakan pendidikan lanjutan dari jenjang sarjana kedokteran gigi yang merupakan syarat untuk mendapatkan gelar dokter gigi dan berwenang memberikan pelayanan kesehatan gigi dan mulut. Pada jenjang pendidikan ini koasisten dihadapkan pada kewajiban menyelesaikan requirement yang terdiri dari serangkaian pekerjaan klinik, case report dan atau journal reading, seminar, serta berbagai macam ujian. Selain itu pada angkatan 2013 terdapat beberapa kebijakan baru, berupa pembatasan masa studi, kenaikan biaya dan perubahan sistem pelaporan kasus. Bagi beberapa koasisten, program profesi dokter gigi ini sebagai stressor, terutama dalam menyelesaikan requirement yang banyak. Namun terdapat beberapa orang koasisten yang mampu memenuhi semua requirement yang ada. Terdapat karakteristik kepribadian yang berfungsi sebagai sumber daya dalam menghadapi peristiwa dalam kehidupan yang menimbulkan tekanan atau stres, yaitu Hardiness dari Kobasa (1982). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memperoleh data empirik mengenai gambaran hardiness. Metode penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif. Subjek penelitian pada penelitian ini adalah koasisten angkatan 2013 di fakultas kedokteran gigi universitas “x†berjumlah 32 orang. Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini disusun sendiri oleh peneliti berdasarkan teori Kobasa (1982). Diperoleh hasil uji validitas sebanyak 38 item yang valid dari 42 item yang disusun. Hasil uji reliabilitas sebesar 0,939. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat 25 subjek (78,1%) yang memiliki hardiness tinggi dan 7 subjek (21,9%) memiliki hardiness rendah.
