Studi Deskriptif Mengenai Resiliensi pada Pasien Guillain Barre Syndrome di CGC Kota Bandung

Abstract. Guillain Barre Syndrome (GBS) is an autoimmune disorder in which a person's immune system attacks the peripheral nervous system which is declared as the biggest paralysis disease in the world and it is one of the serious neurological emergency. The impact experienced by sufferers, such as physical disorders, various psychological and social problems. With a variety of stressors that can make a downfall, it is found in the Care Of GBS community that most of the initial studies show symptoms that lead to the ability to rise and adapt positively to stress. Patients can develop and adjust positively, even though they have several difficulties. Wagnild explained that the ability to rise and continue to live is called resilience. Resilience is the ability of individuals to develop and adjust positively despite persistent tensions. The purpose of this study was to obtain empirical data on the resilience of Guillain Barre Syndrome patients in Care of GBS Community. With resilience, patients can rise from adversity or stress experienced. The research method used is descriptive study. The research subjects were GBS patients who joined the Care Of GBS community in Bandung City accounted for 17 people. The measuring instrument used is The 25-Item Resilience Scale developed by G. Wagnild. The results showed that 3 patients (17.6%) had a high degree of resilience, as many as 8 patients (47.1%) had a degree of resilience above average, 3 patients (17.6%) had an average degree of resilience, 2 patients (11.8%) had a degree of resilience below average, and 1 patient (5.9%) had a low degree of resilience.

Abstrak. Guillain Barre Syndrome (GBS) merupakan gangguan autoimun dimana sistem kekebalan seseorang menyerang sistem saraf tepi yang dinyatakan sebagai penyakit penyebab kelumpuhan terbesar di dunia dan merupakan salah satu penyakit kegawatdaruratan neurologis yang serius. Dampak yang dirasakan oleh penderitanya berupa gangguan fisik, berbagai masalah psikologis dan sosial. Dengan berbagai stresor penyakit yang dapat membuat terpuruk, namun ditemukan di komunitas Care Of GBS bahwa sebagian besar yang didapatkan dari studi awal menunjukan gejala yang mengarah pada adanya kemampuan bangkit dan adaptasi secara positif terhadap stres. Para pasien dapat berkembang dan menyesuaikan diri secara positif meskipun merasakan berbagai kesulitan. Wagnild menjelaskan bahwa kemampuan untuk bangkit dan terus melanjutkan hidup ini disebut resiliensi. Resiliensi merupakan kemampuan yang dimiliki individu untuk berkembang dan menyesuaikan diri secara positif meskipun adanya ketegangan yang dirasakan terus-meneus. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah memperoleh data empiris mengenai resiliensi yang dimiliki pasien Guillain Barre Syndrome di Care of GBS Community. Dengan resiliensi, pasien dapat bangkit dari keterpurukan atau stres yang dialami. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi deskriptif. Subjek penelitian adalah para pasien GBS yang bergabung dalam komunitas Care Of GBS Kota Bandung sebanyak 17 orang. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah The Resilience Scale 25-Item yang dikembangkan oleh G. Wagnild. Hasil penelitian menunjukan sebanyak 3 pasien (17,6%) memiliki derajat resiliensi tinggi, sebanyak 8 pasien (47,1%) memiliki derajat resiliensi di atas rata-rata, 3 pasien (17,6%) memiliki derajat resiliensi rata-rata, 2 pasie (11,8%) memiliki derajat resiliensi di bawah rata-rata, dan 1 pasien (5,9%) memiliki derajat resiliensi rendah.
