Studi Deskriptif Character Strength Pada Perawat Yang Memiliki Employee Engagement Tinggi Di Rumah Sakit Al-Islam Bandung

Abstract


Abstract. The hospital is a health service institution that organizes individual health services in plenary in the form of providing inpatient services, outpatient care, and emergency care. A hospital, in order to provide a complete health service is in need of superior and competent human resources as well as carried out by Al-Islam Hospital in Bandung. One of the human resources at Al-Islam Hospital in Bandung is a nurse. In carrying out their work, nurses are faced with various problems and obstacles. But with every obstacle faced, the nurses have high employee engagement. The high employee engagement in nurses is based on the strength of the character that is in each nurse. The method used in this study is a descriptive study with a population of 78 nurses. The measuring instrument used was a standard measuring tool called Value in Action Inventory Scale (VIA-IS) compiled by Peterson and Seligman which was adapted to Indonesian. The results showed that the dominant strength character (signature strength) possessed by nurses with high employee engagement were Gratitude, Spirituality, Integrity, Persistence, and Hope.

Abstrak. Rumah Sakit adalah institusi pelayanan kesehatan yang menyelenggarakan pelayanan kesehatan perorangan secara paripurna berupa menyediakan pelayanan rawat inap, rawat jalan, dan gawat. Sebuah rumah sakit, demi memberikan pelayanan kesahatan yang paripurna sangat membutuhkan sumber daya manusia yang unggul dan berkompeten begitu pun yang dilakukan oleh Rumah Sakit Al-Islam Bandung. Salah satu sumber daya manusia di Rumah Sakit Al-Islam Bandung adalah perawat. Dalam melaksanakan pekerjaannya perawat dihadapkan dalam berbagai masalah dan kendala. Namun dengan setiap kendala yang dihadapi justru para perawat memiliki employee engagement yang tinggi. Tingginya employee engagement pada perawat tersebut didasari karena adanya kekuatan karakter yang ada di dalam diri setiap perawat. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah studi deskriptif dengan populasi sebanyak 78 perawat. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah alat ukur baku yang disebut Value in Action Inventory Scale (VIA-IS) yang disusun oleh Peterson dan Seligman yang diadaptasi ke Bahasa Indonesia. Hasil penelitian menunjukan character strength dominan (signature strength) yang dimiliki perawat yang memiliki employee engagement tinggi adalah Gratitude, Spirituality, Integrity, Persistence, dan Hope.
