Studi Deskriptif Mengenai Parents Involvement Pada Ibu yang Memiliki Anak Belum Siap Sekolah di Kelas TK B RA Ya Ibna Cimahi

Abstract


Abstract. Before entering primary education (Primary School) a child must have school readiness. Children who have school readiness will have many advantages so as to better prepare their future. In order for the child to go to school, biological maturity and stimulation obtained by the child is necessary to realize the readiness of the child's school. Parents have a very important role in children's education because parents are the first and foremost teachers of the child. Therefore, it should be noted how the involvement of parents in helping the readiness to enter the elementary school children. Parents Involvement by Hill & Taylor (2009) is a parent's interaction with school and with children to help success in academics. This research uses a quantitative approach (descriptive method). Data were collected on 20 parents with mothers who were housewives in kindergarten class B RA Ya Ibna Cimahi, using questionnaires compiled based on Hill & Taylor theory (2009). The results obtained are 1) there are 50% of parents who have parents involvement is high and 50% of parents who have parents involvement is low 2) the aspect of academic socialization is the most prominent aspect with high category as much as 60% 3) age and education background mother influencing parents involvement in school readiness of children.

Abstrak. Sebelum memasuki pendidikan dasar (Sekolah Dasar) seorang anak harus memiliki kesiapan bersekolah. Anak yang memiliki kesiapan bersekolah akan memiliki banyak keuntungan sehingga dapat mempersiapkan masa depannya dengan lebih baik. Agar anak siap bersekolah, kematangan secara biologis dan stimulasi yang didapatkan anak sangat diperlukan untuk mewujudkan kesiapan sekolah anak. Orang tua memiliki peran yang sangat penting dalam pendidikan anak karena orang tua merupakan guru pertama dan utama bagi anak. Oleh karena itu, perlu diperhatikan bagaimana keterlibatan orang tua dalam membantu kesiapan masuk sekolah dasar anak. Parents Involvement menurut Hill&Taylor (2009) merupakan interaksi orang tua dengan sekolah dan dengan anak untuk membantu kesuksesan dalam akademik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif (metode deskriptif). Pengumpulan data dilakukan terhadap 20 orang tua dengan ibu yang merupakan ibu rumah tangga di kelas TK B RA Ya Ibna Cimahi, menggunakan kuisioner yang disusun berdasarkan teori Hill&Taylor (2009). Hasil yang diperoleh adalah 1) terdapat 50% orang tua yang memiliki parents involvement tinggi dan 50% orang tua yang memiliki parents involvement rendah 2) aspek academic socialization merupakan aspek yang paling menonjol dengan kategori tinggi sebanyak 60% 3) usia dan latar belakang pendidikan Ibu mempengaruhi parents involvement dalam kesiapan sekolah anak.
