Reclamation Plan on Kaolin Mine at PT Aneka Kaoline Utama, Air Raya village, Tanjungpandan subdistrict, Belitung district, Kepulauan Bangka Belitung Province

Abstract

Mining is an activity that changes shapes of the earth, including the open-pit mine activity
in Belitung district. One of the companies conducting the kaolin mining in Belitung district is PT Aneka Kaoline Utama. The kaolin mining activity done by PT Aneka Kaoline Utama uses an open-pit mining method. This open-pit mining method causes clear landform changes. In the post-mining activity, it is needed to run a land restoring through reclamation and revegetation. The areas that should be reclaimed in PT Aneka Kaoline Utama’s kaolin mining for 5 years period are 5.8 hectares. The reclamation activity is conducted by tailing materials like sand (backfilling). The topsoil thickness that should be spread is 30 cm thick composed by a mixture of topsoil and sand as a cover. The revegetation space is 4 meters x 4 meters. Trees to be planted are acasia (Acasia mangium) and seruk (Schimawalichii Horth). The reclamation plan program of PT Aneka Kaoline Utama covers a 5 years period which has been started in 2015. The total volume of materials to be backfilled is 138.000 m3. The total volume of topsoil to be spread is 14.400 m3. The trees to be planted are 2.875 trees. There isn’t any reclamation cost on first year due to no reclamation activity. On the second year, the cost is Rp.659.10.600. On the third year the cost is Rp.810.516.500. On the fourth year, the cost is Rp.995.610.300. On the fifth year, the cost is Rp.1.229.578.600. And on the sixth year, the cost is Rp.1.518.529.600. So, the total reclamation cost for a 5 years period is Rp.5.213.545.600.
