Laporan Penanganan Anak Autis Melalui Metode Smart-Applied Behaviour Analysis di Kid Aba Bekasi

Abstract

Abstract. Autism is a pervasive development disorder that thoroughly interferes with cognitive function and affects language ability, communication and social interaction. Handling of autism requires effective, efficient and comprehensive therapy, in this case SMART ABA therapy (Applied Behavior Analysis). This study raises the formulation of the problem into the question, how is the handling of autistic children through the SMART ABA method (Applied Behavior Analysis) in KID ABA Bekasi ?. The purpose of this study was to obtain an overview of the handling of autistic children through the SMART ABA method (Applied Behavior Analysis) in KID ABA Bekasi. The method used is qualitative descriptive analysis method. This research was conducted at KID ABA Bekasi. The research techniques used were observation, interviews and documentation. The subjects of this study were 4 autistic children who were treated in KID ABA Bekasi. Based on the processing of data obtained from the results of research, namely, the handling of children with autism with SMART ABA therapy is a method that is proven effective and efficient for people with autism because handling with the SMART ABA method is done systematically, structured and measurable. Handling with SMART ABA uses scientific procedures that have been proven to train children from simple things to more complex things, so that eventually autistic children can live in a community. Successful handling of autistic children with ABA therapy must also be supported by intensive early intervention, namely early diagnosis, because if autistic children are handled late it will cause disruption to adaptive language, cognitive, social functions, so that autistic children will be far behind compared to children their age and role parents, where parents also need to master the techniques - SMART ABA techniques, because without good cooperation between the therapist and the parents of children with their autime, child therapy will not be optimal and may worsen.

Abstrak. Autisme merupakan suatu gangguan perkembangan pervasive yang secara menyeluruh menggangu fungsi kognitif dan mempengaruhi kemampuan Bahasa, komunikasi dan interaksi sosial. Penanganan autisme memerlukan terapi secara efektif, efisien dan menyeluruh, dalam hal ini adalah terapi SMART ABA (Applied Behaviour Analysis ). Penelitian ini mengangkat rumusan masalah ke dalam pertanyaan, bagaimanakah penanganan anak autis melalui metode SMART ABA (Applied Behaviour Analysis ) di KID ABA Bekasi?. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memperoleh gambaran tentang penanganan anak autis melalui metode SMART ABA (Applied Behaviour Analysis ) di KID ABA Bekasi. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif bersifat deskriptif analisis. Penelitian ini dilakukan di KID ABA Bekasi. Teknik penelitian yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 4 anak autisi yang di terapi di KID ABA Bekasi. Berdasarkan pengolahan data yang diperoleh dari hasil penelitian yaitu, penanganan anak autisme dengan terapi SMART ABA adalah metode yang terbukti efektif dan efisien bagi penyandang autis karena penanganan dengan metode SMART ABA dilakukan dengan sistematik, terstruktur dan terukur. Penanganan dengan SMART ABA menggunakan prosedur – prosedur ilmiah yang telah terbukti untuk melatih anak mulai dari hal sederhana sampai dengan hal yang lebih kompleks, sehingga akhirnya anak autis dapat hidup bermasyarakat. Keberhasilan penanganan anak autisi dengan terapi ABA juga harus didukung oleh intervensi dini intensif, yaitu diagnosis dini, karena apabila anak autis terlambat ditangani akan menyebabkan gangguan pada bahasa, kognitif, sosial fungsi adaptif, sehingga anak autis akan semakin tertinggal jauh dibandingkan anak seusia mereka dan peran orangtua, dimana orang tua juga perlu menguasai teknik – teknik SMART ABA, karena tanpa kerjasama yang baik antara terapis dan orangtua anak penyandang autime mereka, terapi anak akan tidak optimal dan mungkin memburuk.
