Cross-Cultural Communication of Multicultural Students

Abstract


Every country has their own way to develop their state by doing some social project for a young generations. The young generation believes as the tomb of the State's development, therefore it is needed of qualified youth for the betterment of the nation and the State. AIESEC as te biggest international students organization. Organization which focused to the development of young generation and be the ambassador to create social project abroad. The most popular project of AIESEC is education project with the name “International Educationâ€, and this project is about volunteering abroad for students. For every International Project Programme, it always has participants from different countries. When humans live at the same scope, of course thay must be adapting and socializing theirselves as a social beings. All participants is separated to be each part for living in some dormitory. And the researcher was live in Alfa dormitory Poland with some friends abroad which is from Indonesia, China, Mexico and Poland. In that dorm, all participants was communicated each others. In every single night, they always do an informal conversation. From that informal conversation which always happened by all participants, the researcher thought there are some interest things which can be researches. So the researcher decided to researching  about informal communications between multicultural students whose live at the Alfa dormitory Poland who has their own differentition of culture. Purpose of this research is to know how is cross cultural communication happened in the informal communication between multicultural students, how is multicultural students adaption of doing informal communication in Alfa dormitory Poland, and also to know about support and inhibitors factors of doing informal communication in Alfa dormitory Poland. The researcher using anxiety/uncertainty management theory, and some concept like cross cultural communication, adaption of cultural differentiatio, informal communication also verbal and nonverbal communication. Researcher is using qualitative methode in this papers of research. Subject of this research is all participants of International Education project whose live in Alfa dormitory Poland. Data collection technique of this research is by interview, observation, and documentation.
