The Tradition of Wayang Lulang Wong (Human Skin) Performance

Abstract


Wayang Lulang Wong tradition is one of traditions in Kenalan Village, Magelang. The man who made Wayang Lulang Wong is known as Doko, the chosen one from Demak Kingdom. Lulang Wong is from two separated words, there are lulang and wong. Lulang means skin and wong means human. So we can say that Wayang Lulang Wong means wayang that made from human skin. The age of Wayang Lulang Wong is 450 years old, the presence of Wayang Lulang Wong along with the discovery of a book written in wood palm trees that are much older, it’s 800 years. The gap occurs in a relatively smaller number of spectators with all the uniqueness of Wayang Lulang Wong and its very old age, which should be part of the history of a culture. There are some purposes in this research, that are for explaining the native’s words, communication setting, and communication moment. Also the implementation of those components. The final result is a communication model of Wayang Lulang Wong tradition. The result of this research is the communication model of Wayang Lulang Wong tradition that the native’s words,the communication setting, the communication moment, and the implementation of Wayang Lulang Wong tradition is continuous for each others.The communication model of  Wayang Lulang Wong tradition proves that it has its own special features in its performance.
