Abstract


The appearance of Hijabers Instagram Celebrity gives a signature impression in Muslim fashion industry. It is caused of their way who be able to make a veil usage looks more modern. The amount of the followers on their own Instagram account which is not a little, make the Hijabers Instagram Celebrity should behave on every communication term they do on Instagram. The celebrity label who has been given by the society makes them to be a role-model to those who follow them on Instagram. This research is aimed to know how Hijabers Instagram Celebrity do the self-presentation on Instagram and also to be able to know their daily activities when they are not on Instagram. In order to get a final result, this research uses qualitative methodology with the dramaturgy theory from Erving Goffman. In his theory, Goffman said that life is not as different as theater stage that consisting of front region and back region. Based on the content of their Instagram accounts as in the front stage, each of them clearly want to be seen as an active and productive woman and also a religious person based on the veil usage. However, what really happens on the back region seems not as perfect as the front stage. Most of them are the housewives and only one of them is still in college. Basically, they are all really open to anyone in their real lives as in they are not really strict to the religion they believe in. What makes the different on Instagram is because there is a burden that people give to them based on veil usage.
