Aktivitas Antibakteri Minyak Biji Jinten Hitam (Nigella sativa Linn.) Terhadap Bakteri Staphylococcus aureus Dan Staphylococcus epidermidis

Abstract. Acnes occur due to several factors, including colonization of acne-causes bacteria such asStaphylococcus aureusandStaphylococcus epidermidis.Black cumin seed oil is known to contain a compoundthymoquinoneand α-pinene which possess antibacterial activity.This research aims to determine the oil antibacterial activity against bacteria S.aureusandS.epidermidis. Antibacterial activity test performed by agar diffusion method.The test material used is oil with concentrations at 0,5;1;2;and 4%.The results showed at 0,5% concentration of oil gives the diameters of inhibition againstS.aureusandS.epidermidisrespectively at 10,19±2,93 mm and 14,16±1,23 mm.

Abstrak. Jerawat timbul karena beberapa faktor diantaranya kolonisasi bakteri penyebab jerawat seperti Staphylococcus aureus dan Staphylococcus epidermidis. Minyak biji jinten hitam diketahui mengandung senyawa thymoquinone dan α-pinene yang memiliki aktivitas antibakteri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri minyak terhadap bakteri S. aureus dan S. epidermidis. Pengujian aktivitas antibakteri dilakukan dengan metode difusi agar. Bahan uji yang digunakan yaitu minyak dengan konsentrasi 0,5; 1; 2; dan 4%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan minyak konsentrasi 0,5% memberikan diameter hambat terhadap S. aureus dan S. epidermidis berturut-turut 10,19±2,93 mm dan 14,16±1,23 mm.
