Studi Literatur Pengaruh Formulasi dan Metode Nanoenkapsulasi terhadap Karakteristik Nanokapsul Minyak Atsiri

Abstract


Abstract. Essential oils have various uses, for example as an antibacterial, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, sedative, and painkiller. However, essential oils have limitations due to strong aroma and taste, low solubility in the water phase, and low stability. Therefore, preparations in the form of nanoencapsulation can be a solution to these limitations. This study aims to provide information about the effect of formulations and methods on the characteristics of the nanocapsules of essential oils. A literature study method was performed to compare results from various research on the nanoencapsulation of essential oil. Formulations used in various types of essential oils and nanoencapsulation methods determine the characteristics of the resulting nanocapsules in terms of measurements of particle size, polydispersity index, zeta potential, morphology, and encapsulation efficiency. The different formulations and methods of nanoencapsulation used can affect the characteristics of the nanocapsules of essential oils produced.

Abstrak. Minyak atsiri memiliki berbagai macam manfaat seperti antibakteri, antimikroba, antiinflamasi, sedatif, dan anti nyeri. Akan tetapi, pada umumnya minyak atsiri memiliki keterbatasan seperti aroma dan rasa yang kuat, kelarutannya rendah di dalam fase air dan stabilitasnya yang rendah. Oleh karena itu, sediaan dalam bentuk nanoenkapsulasi dapat menjadi solusi dari keterbatasan yang ada. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan informasi mengenai pengaruh formulasi dan metode nanoenkapsulasi terhadap karakteristik nanokapsul minyak atsiri yang dihasilkan. Pada penelitian digunakan metode studi literatur yang diperoleh dari hasil penelitian nanoenkapsulasi minyak atsiri. Formulasi yang digunakan pada berbagai jenis minyak atsiri dan juga metode pembuatan nanoenkapsulasi sangat menentukan karakteristik nanokapsul yang dihasilkan ditinjau dari pengukuran terhadap ukuran partikel, indeks polidispersitas, potensial zeta, morfologi, dan efisiensi enkapsulasi. Perbedaan formulasi dan metode pembuatan nenoenkapsulasi yang digunakan dapat mempengaruhi karakteristik nanokapsul minyak atsiri yang dihasilkan.
