Abstract

Abstract: Arthroplasty refers to the treatment of osteoarthritis using surgical repair. More than 450.000 TKA surgical procedures have been conducted; the increase of patients with osteoarthritis as well as the better result of the repair causes the increase of the TKA procedure execution. The collected data will be analyzed in order to obtain the characteristics based on age and gender as well as to analyze the osteoarthritis patients’ prognosis in the process of the pain repair (while having Arthroplasty surgery). This study uses observational descriptive method with cross sectional approach involving 17 data of medical records of patients with osteoarthritis, who undergo Arthroplasty surgery in Al- Islam hospital, period 2010-2015; the data collected through total sampling. The study shows that from the 17 medical records, Arthroplasty surgery is reportedly more famous for women (i.e. it reaches 58.8% in total) than for men (i.e. it reaches 41.2%). Regarding age, there are 70.6% patients, in the range of 25- 65 years old, and 29.4%  ,in the range of 65 years old, who have the surgery. It concludes, the mean of patients who will have pain after 5 months of rehabilitation is 52.9% with score of pain <5 is 88.2% and score >5 is 11.8%. A large numbe of female patient with osteoarthritis increase the number of female patient who undergo arthroplasty. Age is the most crucial factor that cause osteoarthritis which in turn it uccures the number of aged patient with arthroplasty.
