Scoping Review: Pengaruh Pemberian Kurma (Phoenix dactylifera) terhadap Kadar Hemoglobin pada Pasien Anemia

Abstract


Abstract. Anemia is a condition when the level of hemoglobin (Hb) in the blood is low (<12 g / dl). The prevalence of anemia is estimated to be 9% in developed countries and 43% in developing countries. in 2013, the prevalence of anemia in Indonesia was 21.7%. Iron deficiency anemia (IDA) is the most common nutrient deficiency problem worldwide, especially in developing countries including Indonesia with a prevalence of 72.3%. Iron supplementation has become a policy of the Indonesian government for the treatment of anemia. Several studies on herbal plants as an alternative to iron supplements have been carried out, which is the consumption of dates. Dates are high in iron and can be used as an alternative to iron supplements. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving dates on hemoglobin levels in anemia patients. This research is a Scoping Review, by searching for articles from the EBSCO, ProQuest, and Google Scholar databases. There were 374 articles according to the inclusion criteria, after the feasibility test based on PICOS the remaining articles were 8 articles. The results found in 4 articles showed an average increase in hemoglobin levels are more than 1 g / dL and 4 other articles showed an average increase in hemoglobin are less than 1 g / dL. The conclusion of this study is that dates can increase hemoglobin levels in anemic patients. Dates contain iron which plays a role in hemoglobin’s production with the results that it can increase hemoglobin levels.

Abstrak. Anemia merupakan suatu kondisi ketika kadar hemoglobin (Hb) dalam darah tergolong rendah (<12 gr/dl). Prevalensi anemia diperkirakan 9% di negara-negara maju dan 43% di negara berkembang. Pada tahun 2013 prevalensi anemia di Indonesia yaitu 21,7%. Anemia defisiensi besi (ADB) merupakan masalah defisiensi nutrien tersering di seluruh dunia terutama di negara berkembang termasuk Indonesia dengan prevalensi 72,3%. Suplementasi besi menjadi suatu kebijakan pemerintah Indonesia untuk penanganan anemia. Beberapa penelitian pada tumbuhan herbal sebagai alternatif suplemen zat besi telah banyak dilakukan salah satunya dengan konsumsi buah kurma. Kurma mengandung zat besi yang tinggi dan dapat dijadikan alternatif suplemen zat besi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui pengaruh pemberian kurma terhadap kadar hemoglobin pada pasien anemia. Penelitian ini merupakan Scoping Review, dengan mencari artikel dari database EBSCO, ProQuest, dan GoogleScholar. Artikel yang sesuai kriteria inklusi sebanyak 374 artikel, setelah uji kelayakan berdasarkan PICOS artikel yang tersisa sebanyak 8 artikel. Hasil penelitian ditemukan 4 artikel menunjukkan hasil rata-rata peningkatan kadar hemoglobin lebih dari 1 gr/dL dan 4 artikel lainnya menunjukkan hasil rata-rata peningkatan hemoglobin kurang  dari 1 gr/dL. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah kurma dapat meningkatkan kadar hemoglobin pada pasien anemia. Kurma  mengandung zat besi yang berperan dalam pembentukan hemoglobin sehingga dapat meningkatkan kadar hemoglobin.
