Abstract

Abstract. Hypertension is the increase in blood pressure where the systolic pressure is more than 140 mmHg, and the increase in diastolic blood pressure is more than 90 mmHg. Based on Depkes RI 2013 report, hypertension is still the highest prevalence for Indonesia's non-communicable diseases. Industrial technology is increasingly advanced to simplify and improve work results. The use of machines in the industry is one example of technological developments that make work in the textile industry more straightforward. However, machines also have negative impacts in the form of toxic substances, waste, and noise. The purpose of this study was to conduct a literature review to determine the relationship between noise exposure and increased blood pressure. The article search was conducted from three databases: Springer Link, Pub Med, and Neliti. They were selected following the PRISMA's chart based on patient, intervention, comparison, outcome, and study (PICOS) criteria. The criteria were a general working population, articles with intervention or exposure to noise to increase blood pressure, not experiencing noise exposure, and groups experiencing noise exposure <85dB. Primary hypertension and a cross-sectional study were also criteria of the articles. 13 articles passed the selection and showed the link between noise and increased blood pressure.
