Hubungan Paparan Uap Bensin terhadap Kejadian Dispnea pada Pegawai SPBU

Abstract. Vapor is a substance produced by some liquids which diffuse into the air, and gasoline vapor is produced from gasoline. Gasoline vapor can cause shortness of breath in confined, poorly ventilated, or low-lying areas. Shortness of breath or "dyspnea" comes from the Greek "dys" which means "difficult", and "pnoia" which means "breathing". Dyspnea is a term used to describe a subjective experience of breathing discomfort. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between gasoline vapor exposure and the incidence of dyspnea among gas station employees. This study used an analytical observational method with a retrospective cohort approach, using the Chi-Square test, and a total sample of 41 was taken by cell sampling. The data obtained are primary data taken by filling out a questionnaire to determine the relationship between gasoline vapor exposure to the incidence of dyspnea. The research was conducted in September-October at the Bandung District gas station. The results showed that 38 people (92.7%) who were exposed to gasoline vapor, consisting of 7 people (17.1%) had dyspnea and 31 people (75.6%) had no dyspnea, while gas station employees who were not exposed to gasoline vapor as much as 3 people (7.3%) consisting of 2 people (4.9%) had dyspnea and 1 person (2.4%) did not have dyspnea. There was no significant difference regarding the relationship between gasoline vapor exposure and the incidence of dyspnea with a p value>0.005 (0.116).

Abstrak. Uap adalah zat yang dihasilkan oleh beberapa cairan yang berdifusi ke udara, dan uap bensin dihasilkan dari bensin. Uap bensin dapat menyebabkan sesak napas di area tertutup, berventilasi buruk, atau dataran rendah. Sesak napas atau "dispnea" berasal dari Bahasa Yunani “dys†yang berarti “susahâ€, dan “pnoia†yang berarti “bernapasâ€. Dispnea adalah istilah yang digunakan untuk mendeskripsikan pengalaman subjektif dari ketidaknyamanan napas. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan paparan uap bensin dengan kejadian dispnea pada pegawai SPBU. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode observasional analitik dengan pendekatan kohort retrospektif, menggunakan Uji Chi-Square, dan total sampel 41 diambil dari pengambilan cell sampling. Data yang didapat merupakan data primer yang diambil dengan mengisi kuesioner untuk mengetahui hubungan paparan uap bensin terhadap kejadian dispnea. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan September-Oktober di SPBU Kabupaten Bandung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan responden yang terpapar uap bensin sebanyak 38 orang (92,7%) yang terdiri dari 7 orang (17,1%) mengalami dispnea dan 31 orang (75,6%) tidak mengalami dispnea, sedangkan pegawai SPBU yang tidak terpapar uap bensin sebanyak 3 orang (7,3%) yang terdiri dari 2 orang (4,9%) mengalami dispnea dan 1 orang (2,4%) tidak mengalami dispnea. Tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan mengenai hubungan paparan uap bensin dengan kejadian dispnea dengan nilai p>0,005 (0,116).
