Perbandingan Kecepatan Proses Penyembuhan Luka Menggunakan Ekstrak Air Kopi dan Ekstrak Air Antibiotik Neomisin-Basitrasin terhadap Luka Insisi Terinfeksi Staphylococcus Aureus pada Tikus (Rattus Novergicus)

Abstract


Abstract. Treatment of bacterially infected wounds is generally performed with the topical drug neomycin-bacitracin. Coffee water extract has been chosen as an alternative to wound care because it has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties that can speed up the wound healing process. This study aims to compare the wound healing process's speed between coffee water extract and neomycin-bacitracin water extract by assessing the oozing (wetness) of the wound surface, wound edge hyperemia, wound surface size, and leukocyte values assessed on day 7 and 14. The study was conducted on 24 male Wistar rats divided into three groups (coffee water extract, neomycin-bacitracin aqueous extract, and no therapy). The study showed that the effect of coffee water extract on oozing (wetness) of the wound surface, hyperemia of wound edges, and the number of leukocytes had the same results as an aqueous extract neomycin-bacitracin. However, there was a difference in the effect of coffee water extract on the speed of reducing the size of the wound area. Overall, Coffee water extract had no faster healing effect on S. aureus infected wound than neomycin-bacitracin water extract, seen from the degree of wound dryness, hyperemia, wound area, and the number of leukocytes.

Abstrak. Perawatan luka terinfeksi bakteri secara umum dilakukan dengan obat topikal neomisin-basitrasin. Ekstrak air kopi telah dipilih sebagai alternatif perawatan luka karena memiliki kemampuan antibakteri, anti-inflamasi, dan antioksidan yang dapat mempercepat proses penyembuhan luka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbandingan kecepatan proses penyembuhan luka antara ekstrak air kopi dan ekstrak air neomisin-basitrasin dengan menilai oozing (basah) permukaan luka, hiperemis tepi luka, ukuran permukaan luka, dan nilai leukosit yang dinilai pada hari ke-7 dan hari ke-14. Penelitian dilakukan kepada 24 ekor tikus jantan Wistar yang dibagi menjadi tiga kelompok (ekstrak air kopi, ekstrak air neomisin-basitrasin, dan tanpa terapi). Penelitian menunjukan efek ekstrak air kopi terhadap oozing (basah) permukaan luka, hiperemis tepi luka, dan jumlah leukosit memiliki hasil yang sama dengan ekstrak air neomisin-basitrasin, tetapi terdapat perbedaan efek ekstrak air kopi terhadap kecepatan berkurangnya ukuran luas luka. Secara keseluruhan ekstrak air kopi memiliki efek penyembuhan yang tidak lebih cepat terhadap luka insisi terinfeksi S. aureus dibandingkan dengan ekstrak Neomisin-Basitrasin, dilihat dari derajat kekeringan luka, hiperemis tepi luka, luas luka dan jumlah leukosit.
