Abstract

Abstract. Chronic obtructive pulmonary disease (COPD) patients has a breathlessness symptom while doing everyday activities, cough, and continous sputum production. Breathlessness can be decrease the patient’s ability in everyday activities, including walking. The purpose of this study is to know the description of the result of 6 minute walking test (6MWT) before and after ergocycle excercise in COPD patients. This study used an analytic observational method with cross sectional design, Five patients were included in this study. Data were taken from patient’s medical record who came to physical rehabilitation unit in RS Paru Dr. H. A. Rotinsulu, January 2018 – July 2019 period. There is a decreased result in 6 minute walking test with result mean before exercise 359 meters  and mean after excersice 301,20 meters. As a conslusion, there is a decreased result in 6MWT after ergocycle excercise. This may caused by patient’s age, excersice frequency, less sample, lack of motivation, and changing speed while pedalling the ergocycle.
