Implementasi Pesan Jurnalisme Positif pada Media Online terhadap Agenda Pemilu 2019

Abstract


Abstract. In the modern era, the speed is changing the way and the perspective of journalists in the media. The principle of the media in Indonesia, in general many are familiar with the adage "Bad News is Good News". Lately this role has been replaced by new journalism principles which are based on positive journalism. Positive journalism is the concept of thinking about how journalistic activities are carried out properly and correctly according to journalistic principles and humanitarian principles so that the news presented is not only objective and meaningful, but also fosters optimism and positive behavior in the public reader. "Good News is Good News" is starting to become a benchmark for some media who are worried about seeing a lot of negative news in Indonesia in the mainstream media. The amount of tendentious news has begun to appear when the political year arrives, namely the Presidential and VicePresidential Elections along with the 2019 Legislative Election May 21-22 edition. Starting from there, the researcher intends to find out the real message content that is highlighted for both positive online media, namely TIMES Indonesia and Berita Satu in carrying out positive aspects. This type of research used by researchers is a type of quantitative research. The results of this study indicate that the TIMES Indonesia media and Berita Satu have implemented the principle of positive journalism in terms of positive focus, successful story, truth, and completeness.

Abstrak. Di era modern saat ini kecepatan mengubah cara dan sudut pandang kerja jurnalis di media. Prinsip media di Indonesia, umumnya banyak yang mengenal adagium “Bad News is Good Newsâ€. Belakangan ini peran tersebut tergantikan oleh prinsip jurnalisme baru yang berlandaskan jurnalisme positif. Jurnalisme positif adalah konsep pemikiran tentang bagaimana aktivitas jurnalistik dijalankan dengan baik dan benar sesuai kaidah jurnalistik dan asas kemanusiaan agar berita yang disajikan tidak saja objektif dan bermakna, melainkan juga menumbuhkan optimisme dan perilaku positif pada publik pembaca. “Good News is Good News†mulai menjadi tolok ukur beberapa media yang cemas melihat banyaknya berita negatif di Indonesia pada media mainstream. Banyaknya berita tendensius sudah mulai terlihat saat tahun politik tiba yaitu Pemilu Presiden dan Wakil Presiden beserta Pemilihan Legislatif 2019 edisi 21-22 Mei. Berawal dari sana, peneliti bermaksud mengetahui isi pesan yang ditampilkan secara nyata yang ditonjolkan bagi kedua media online bernada positif yaitu TIMES Indonesia dan Berita Satu dalam menjalankan aspek-aspek positif. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan oleh peneliti adalah jenis penelitian kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa media TIMES Indonesia dan Berita Satu sudah menjalankan prinsip jurnalisme positif dari segi aspek fokus positif, keberhasilan, kebenaran, dan kelengkapan.
